Buffalo, N.Y. -
While junior Brienne Ryan preps for the NCAA Women's Swimming Championship next weekend, senior diver Andrea Krok is attempting to join her in the NCAA Women's Diving Championship, as she began competition at the NCAA Zone Diving Championship on Friday, held at the University at Buffalo's Alumni Arena Natatorium.
Of the 47 women's divers, Krok is one of three Atlantic 10 representatives at the meet along with La Salle's Laurie McLaughin and Massachusetts' Michaela Butler. She is also Fordham's first representative at the Zone Diving Championship since Donnie Callara in 2006.
The Championship began with the women's one-meter dive, as Krok finished 27th overall with a score of 214.40. The top 18 advanced to the finals.
Krok will have a second chance at the finals in the three-meter competition on Saturday. Earlier this season, Krok posted a school record score of 304.50, which was her qualifying score for the Zone Diving Championship, and took bronze at the Atlantic 10 Championship in that event.
