Men's Golf in First Place after First Round of La Salle Invitational

Ambler, Pa. - The Fordham golf team opened its spring season on Sunday, March 25, sitting in first place after day one of the La Salle Invitational form the Talamore Country Club in Ambler, Pennsylvania. Jason Del Rossopaced the field with a one-under 70.

As a team, the Rams posted an overall score of 300, three strokes ahead of second-place Iona. Besides Del Rosso's 70, the other golfers to contribute to the team score were Jeff Hogan (75), Connor Monaghan (76), Devon O'Rourke (79) and Brody Nieporte(82).

Individually, Fordham had four linksmen in the top-20. Besides Del Rosso's name at the top of the leader board, Hogan is in a tie for seventh, at four over par. Monaghan is +5 and shares 11th. Brandon Nolan shot a 77 and is currently in 14th position. O'Rourke and Brian Engstromare both eight over par and share21st place. Nieporte's score put him in a tie for 34th and he finished the day 11 over par.

The Rams will look to hold on to first place and earn the team win as they play the second and final round on Monday, March 26.
