Bronx, N.Y. -
Coming off a season that saw the Fordham, men's soccer team earn the Atlantic 10 regular season co-championship, defeat three ranked opponents, including national runner-up Charlotte, and see senior goalie Ryan Meara get drafted into the MLS, the Rams are quickly looking to reload the roster to maintain that success. Today the Rams took another step in the process, inking another recruit with the signing of Arizona prospect Terry Hudson.
Hudson, a class of 2012 player from Phoenix, Arizona, joins an incoming class that includes Kyle Bitterman, Patrick Casey, Ryan Cupolo, Tommy Granot and Matt Murphy. These recruits will look to fill the holes of a team that lost eleven seniors, including Meara, the 2011 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year, and Tim Richardson, a 2011 Second Team All-Atlantic 10 and All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection.
Hudson, a defender, plays his club soccer for Sereno Soccer club out of Scottsdale, Arizona, and played varsity soccer for Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, where he was named Defensive Player of the Year.
The six-footer will bring strength and size to the back line at Rose Hill and head coach Jim McElderry shared his thoughts on Hudson. "Terry is a tough minded defender. He has an excellent soccer background in England and with the Sereno Soccer Club. I expect Terry to come in and compete for playing time as a central defender."
