Fordham-Stony Brook Game Notes

Following a seven-game road swing, the Fordham Rams return home for the next five contests, beginning with a mid-week match-up with the Stony Brook Seawolves. Fordham comes into the game, the winner of its last two contests, while the Seawolves took three of four games from Yale this weekend.

SCOUTING STONY BROOK: The Seawolves are 11-6 this season, after going 3-1 this weekend against Yale.
Leading the offense, Maxx Tissenbaum is the Seawolves' top hitter at .455 with six doubles, two home runs, and nine RBI. Travis Jankowski is batting .354 with 17 runs scored, seven doubles and 10 stolen bases, while William Carmona leads the team with five home runs and 16 RBI.
On the hill, the Seawolves boast a 2.30 team ERA as well as a .212 opponent batting average. RHP Matt Gallup is the probable starter on Tuesday. He is 1-0 in two appearances with a 1.50 ERA in six innings pitched.
WE'RE GOIN' STREAKIN': Tim Swatek is hitting .350 (7-20) over his last seven contests, posting two doubles, two home runs, and five RBI... Mike Mauri batted .467 (7-15) over his last four games with three multi-hit contests. He along with Joseph Charest were both named to the Strike Out Cancer All-Tournament team over this past weekend... Matthew Cianci is hitting .321 over his last seven games, scoring eight runs with three stolen bases... Joseph Charest threw his first career complete game on Sunday, pitching a four-hitter and recording his first win of the season... Chris Pike tossed 7.2 innings in his last outing, giving up just one earned run to Maine.
MAURI & CHAREST NAMED TO STRIKE OUT CANCER ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM (3/18): Fordham juniors Mike Mauri and Joseph Charest were both selected to the Seton Hall Strike Out Cancer All-Tournament team, it was announced at the conclusion of the tournament on March 18th.
Mauri hit .455 for the tournament, collecting five hits in 11 at bats, while notching a double, a run scored and two RBI.
Charest tossed his first career complete game in a 3-2 win over Maine. He allowed two runs on four hits with three strikeouts, and induced a season-high 17 ground outs.
UPCOMING GAMES: The Rams continue their homestand on Wednesday, when the team faces Marist at 3:30 PM. Fordham then opens Atlantic 10 play against Massachusetts on Friday, beginning a three-game series. The Rams are then back on the road locally at LIU on March 28th, before heading to St. Bonaventure for a three-game series, March 30-Apr. 1.
