Limited Number of Tickets Remain for Men's Basketball Game with Dayton on Saturday

Bronx, N.Y.l - The Fordham University men's basketball Rams continue the home portion of their 2012 Atlantic 10 schedule on Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Dayton Flyers at 1:00 p.m. in the historic Rose Hill Gym. A limited number of tickets remain for the game so get your tickets now through the Fordham Ticket Office by calling 855-RAM-TIXS (855-726-8499) or online by clicking here.

As part of a new sponsorship, Fordham is proud to introduce PlayUp as The Official Fan Engagement Partner of Fordham Athletics.

PlayUp is proud to help Ram's fans stay close to the live action as the Official Fan Engagement Partner of Fordham Athletics. The Fordham University men's basketball team will host the University of Dayton Flyers in the historic Rose Hill Gym for another YES Network broadcast of Rams basketball at 1 PM ET as Fordham celebrates Men's Basketball Alumni Day.

Ram's fans of all ages are encouraged to cheer on the Rams using PlayUp, a free iOS mobile application that allows sports fans all over the world to receive real-time stats and chat about over 25,000 live games per year. PlayUp is the only mobile social network dedicated to sports fans.

Fans at Rose Hill have some incentive to check out PlayUp as the company will be giving away a $100 Apple Gift Card to the fan in attendance who posts the best content in the "Rams Basketball" room.

Following the men's game on Saturday, the Fordham women will host Xavier University in an Atlantic 10 game at 5:00 p.m. Your ticket for the Fordham men's game on Saturday will also be good as a general admission ticket to the women's game.

Saturday will also be Men's Basketball Alumni Day as head coach Tom Pecora and the Fordham Rams invite all Fordham basketball alumni and their families to come out and support the current Rams. Any men's basketball alumni interested in attending should RSVP to Dina Perrone in the Fordham men's basketball office at dperrone1@fordham.edu, by Friday, February 3, 2012 with your name and the number of guests that will be attending with you as soon as possible.

Following the men's game, there will be a special reception for all Fordham men's basketball alumni and their guests in Dagger John's, located in the basement of the McGinley Center. As part of the festivities, former men's basketball strength coach Ed Rohs will be on hand to sign his new book, "Raised by the Church: Growing up in New York City's Catholic Orphanages." Books will also be available for sale at the reception.

The Rams enter the game with a 9-13 overall record, 2-7 in the Atlantic 10, after a 69-62 Atlantic 10 loss to Charlotte last Saturday in the Rose Hill Gym. Dayton enters the game with a 14-9 overall record, 4-5 in the A-10, after dropping a 58-50 conference decision at Saint Louis last Saturday.

On the court, Fordham is led by junior Chris Gaston, who leads the team in scoring (16.1 ppg) and rebounding (10.2 rpg). He scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds against Charlotte for his 14th double-double of the season and the 50th of his career. His 25 points brings his career total to 1,288, moving him ahead of Dave Maxwell (1980-83) and into 14th place on the Fordham all-time scoring list while his 14 rebounds bring his career total to 850, placing him in sixth place on the Fordham all-time rebounding list

Sophomore Branden Frazier, a Brooklyn native, is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.2 ppg and he leads the team in assists, while freshman guard Bryan Smith, the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, is third in scoring with a 10.2 ppg average.
