Newport News, Va. - Fordham University junior swimmer Brienne Ryan (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall) was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week, it was announced by the league office today. It is Ryan's third weekly award of the season, and the seventh of her career.

Ryan picks up the award after an excellent showing at Massachusetts on Saturday. Ryan was a part of four event wins and three pool records in the Rams' 171-129 win over the Minutewomen. She set pool records in the 50 freestyle (23.83) and the 100 freestyle (51.31) events, posting season-best times in both events.

She was also a part of the 200 freestyle relay team that also set a pool record in a season-best time of 1:36.68, as well as the 200 medley relay team that won the event in 1:47.96.

Ryan and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving teams will next be in action on Wednesday, February 8th, when the Rams host St. Francis (NY) College at the Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center, beginning at 6:00 PM.
