White Out Forecast for Saturday's Men's Basketball Game with La Salle

Bronx, N.Y. - Even though the forecast calls for sun and temperatures in the 40's on Saturday, the Rose Hill Gym will be under white out conditions as the Fordham University men's basketball Rams continue the home portion of their 2012 Atlantic 10 schedule by hosting the La Salle University Explorers at 1:00 p.m. in the historic Rose Hill Gym. The first 2,700 fans through the gates will receive a special Fordham Basketball White Out t-shirt so plan to arrive early! Saturday will also be Hall of Fame Day at Fordham as the newest inductees join the likes of such Fordham notables as Frankie Frisch, Vince Lombardi, Vin Scully, Wellington Mara and Peter Harnisch. The 2012 Hall of Fame Class is comprised of Bob Cole, GSB '78 (Baseball), Bob Cooney, FCRH `29 (Baseball), Kate Davis Barrick, FCRH `06 (Softball), Erika Newell, FCRH '05 (Swimming), Maik Wiedenbach, FCRH '01 (Swimming), Dan Wolleben, FCRH '04 (Rowing), Deric Zaphire, FCRH '03 (Track & Field) and Maureen Zivic, GSB '05 (Track & Field). They will be inducted in a ceremony prior to the game and will be introduced to the Rose Hill Gym crowd at halftime.

New York Giants football fans will also be interested in attending Saturday's game as the team's 2012 Lombardi Trophy will be on display and will available for photo opportunities. The trophy will be on display beginning at 11:00 AM at the Hall of Fame brunch in the McGinley Center Ballroom and then will be brought down to the Rose Hill Gym for the Fordham-La Salle men's game where it will also be available for photo opportunities with the fans.

The Rams enter the game with a 9-16 overall record, 2-11 in the Atlantic 10, after an Atlantic 10 loss to St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night in the Rose Hill Gym. La Salle enters the game with an 18-10 overall record, 7-6 in the A-10, after dropping an 80-79 conference decision at Temple on Wednesday.

On the court, Fordham is led by junior Chris Gaston, who leads the team in scoring (16.6 ppg) and rebounding (9.8 rpg). He scored 18 points and grabbed four rebounds against St. Bonaventure on Wednesday and now has 1,366 career points, placing him 12th on the Fordham all-time scoring list, and 880 career rebounds, placing him in sixth on the Fordham all-time rebounding list.

The game will be the 45th meeting between La Salle and Fordham on the hardwood. The Explorers lead the series, 31-13, and have taken the past four meetings, including an 86-61 win in Philadelphia last March as Aaric Murray scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Ruben Guillandeaux added 17 points.
