Women's Basketball Hosts Duquesne on Wednesday

The Play4Kay initiative, which was rebranded from the more common, Think Pink, was brought to life in 2007 as an outlet to spread awareness for breast cancer. The rebranding is for former North Carolina State Coach, Kay Yow, who died of cancer in 2009.

The Rams and the Dukes meet for the 19th time on Wednesday. Duquesne leads the all-time series, 14-4, and has won the last four meetings, including a win in Pittsburg last year. Despite the loss last year, the Rams set a school-record by connecting on 13 three-point field goal attempts.

Fordham enters the contest with an 11-14 overall mark, 2-8 in the Atlantic 10. In the their last contest, the Rams fell to 0-2 in overtime games this season, losing to Xavier, 68-56, at home on Saturday. Abigail Corning was one of three Rams to reach double figures as she led the team with 15 points. Becky Peters chipped in with 13 and Charlotte Stoddart contributed 10.

Fordham enters the game with three players averaging in double figures in scoring beginning with Arielle Collins at 11.2 ppg. Collins also leads the squad in assists (83) and steals (45) while Becky Peters enters play scoring 10.7 points per game and Abigail Corning is scoring 10.4 ppg and leads the team in three point shooting percentage (.355).

The Dukes enter the game with a 17-8 overall record, including a 5-5 A-10 ledger. They have won two in a row with victories over George Washington and Rhode Island. Duquesne is led in scoring by Wumi Agunbiade at 14.9 ppg, while Alex Gensler scores 14.0 ppg, and Orsi Szeci contributes 10.7 points per contest.

Following the game with Duquesne, Fordham travels south of the Mason-Dixon Line for an A-10 matchup against Richmond on Sunday, February 19, at 2:00 PM.
