Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University men's basketball head coach Tom Pecora announced the signing of Manny Suarez (Cliffside Park, N.J./Marist High School), Denzel Gregg (Syracuse, N.Y./St. Thomas More) and Jake Fay (Lynn, Mass./Brimmer and May) to National Letters of Intent for the 2013-14 season.

Suarez, a 6'10", 225-pound forward, is in his senior year at Marist High School in Bayonne, N.J., where he averaged 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks last season in 14 games as a junior for head coach Tony Romano, after transferring to Marist from Cliffside Park High School. He also averaged 4.2 blocks per game, leading the Royal Knights' defensive efforts. Suarez was named First Team All-HCIAL for his exploits last winter.

Suarez, who can play either forward position, played AAU basketball for the Albany City Rocks along with fellow Fordham signee Denzel Gregg.

Other programs who were recruiting Suarez included Drexel, St. Peter's, Long Beach State, Penn State and Monmouth.

Gregg, a 6'7", 205-pound forward, is completing his high school career at St. Thomas More Prep in Connecticut, this winter, playing for head coach Jere Quinn. The Chancellors enter the season as the second-ranked prep school in the nation.

Last year, Gregg averaged 12.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg and helped lead St. Thomas More, who saw ten players receive college scholarships for 2012-13, to a 28-8 overall record as the Chancellors advanced to the title game of the 2012 NEPSAC Class AAA Championship and to the quarterfinals of the National Prep School Championship Tournament. He was credited with the "Sleeper Performance of the Day" accolade at the 2012 HOOPHALL Classic in January.

Following his junior year at St. Thomas More, Gregg was selected to participate in the United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar, a fast-paced six-day experience for high achievers who have completed their junior year of high school.

Gregg, who has the ability to play at small or power forward, has the 2012-13 season off to a fast start, scoring 17 points and grabbing five rebounds in St. Thomas More's win over Brewster Academy, the defending National Prep School champions, 90-74, on December 1.

Gregg played AAU basketball for the Albany City Rocks along with fellow Fordham signee Manny Suarez. He chose Fordham over Boston University, Towson and Iona among others.

Fay, a 6'5", 175-pound guard, is a senior at Brimmer and May School in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, where he plays for head coach Tom Nelson. As a junior last year, he averaged 12.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg.

Over the summer of 2012, Fay was active with his AAU team and at home, netting 20 points in the finals to lead his Thunder team to the Lynn All-City League championship.

Fay is off to a hot start in his final season at Brimmer and May, netting 18 points in a loss to nationally-ranked Lee Academy in the second game of the year. A 2012-13 team captain, he is accurate from long distance and is also developing the ability to drive the ball to the basket.

Fay will join his brother, Jared, a redshirt freshman, at Fordham next year and will also be reunited with former Brimmer and May teammate, Ryan Canty, a sophomore at Rose Hill this year.

"We're extremely excited that all three guys decided to come to Fordham and be a part of the rebuilding process," said Pecora. "All three have the ability to play multiple positions and, off the court, will be a natural fit with the Fordham student body and with the Fordham community."
