BRONX, N.Y. - Looking to break out of a recent slide, the Fordham Rams host the Southern University Jaguars tonight in the Rose Hill Gym.

The Rams have dropped three in a row, but the home hardwood has been friendly so far this year to Coach Gaitley's team, taking two out of the three contests played in the Bronx.

SERIES HISTORY: Tonight will be the first ever meeting between the Rams and the Jaguars. Not only will this matchup be the first between Southern and Fordham, but it will also be the first in program history between Fordham and a current member institution of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN: The Jaguars have struggled mightily so far this sesaon, entering Monday's contest with a record of 0-7 following a winless weekend at the Glass City Tournament in Toledo, Ohio. The Jaguars fell to Atlantic 10 opponent St. Bonaventure 56-36 on the first day of the tournament, and dropped a 55-53 decision to SIU-Edwardsville on the second day of action.

Southern's offense has been grim over the first month of action, averaging only 48.4 points per outing on 33.5 percent shooting from the field and 26 percent from deep.

The Jaguars feature only one player in double digit scoring figures, with Adrian Sanders netting 11.1 points per game. The 5'10" junior guard from Jackson, Tennessee is also the team's second leading rebounder, pulling in 4.7 boards per outing.

One problem for the Jaguars so far this year has been turnovers, surrending nearly 17 per game. To go along with that, Southern has only distributed 78 assists through seven games, making for a .66 assist/turnover ratio.
