Newport News, Va. - For the third straight week, multiple members of the Fordham swimming & diving teams captured weekly Atlantic 10 honors, it was announced by the league today. Senior Brienne Ryan (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall) was selected as the Women's Performer of the Week for the third consecutive week and the tenth time in her career, while Steve Sholdra (Renton, Wash./H.B. Education) was selected as the Men's Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Ryan earned Women's Performer of the Week honors for the third straight week for her efforts against Boston University on Saturday. She took first place in the 100 backstroke (55.04) and 200 backstroke (2:02.00), both in league-best times, while also helping her teammates to a pair of first place finishes in the 200 medley relay (1:46.84 - season-best) and 400 freestyle relay (3:32.90). Ryan remains undefeated in each of her individual races for the 2012 season.

Sholdra received Men's Rookie of the Week accolades after winning three events against Boston University on Saturday. He finished first in the 1,000 freestyle (9:26.69) and 500 freestyle (4:38.91), while also posting the top conference time in the 200 butterfly (1:52.94).

Ryan, Sholdra and the rest of the Fordham swimming & diving teams will next be in action on November 9-10, as the Rams compete in the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
