The Fordham University men's tennis team closed out play at the 2012 Columbia Invitational at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center where Emilio Mora fell to Cornell's Quoc-Danile Nguyen in the finals of B singles play.
Mora opened the second day by defeating Erik Kremheller from Fairfield in the quarterfinals, 7-6, 6-2, and then advanced to the finals by upending Marist's Dalen Klassen in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
ON day tree, Mora played Cornell's Quoc-Daniel Nguyen, the top seed in B singles, and took him to three sets before falling. Nguyen took the first set, 6-2, but Mora cam back to win the second by the same score. In the third set, Nguyen edged Mora, 6-4.
In other Fordham action on day two, both Kuba Kowalski and Srikar Alla fell in the quarterfinals with Kowalski dropping a 6-2, 6-0, match to Michael Lampa from St. John's and Alla losing to Columbia's Dragos Ignat, 6-2, 6-2.
In C singles, Max Peara and Jan Krouham were also eliminated in the quarterfinals as Peara fell to Mark Mozer of St. John's, 6-0, 6-2, and Krouham dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Cornell's Spencer Clark.
