Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University freshman cross country runner Mike Turi (Fishkill, N.Y./John Jay) was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week it was announced on Tuesday for meets ran from October 8-14. It is the third weekly award for Turi, his second straight weekly honor, and the fourth A-10 weekly honor for a Fordham men's cross country runner this season.

At the Tribe Open held at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., on Saturday, Turi finished second overall in 25:39.4, ten seconds behind teammate Nick Synan, who won the race in 25:29.4.

Turi's second-place individual showing helped the Rams to the Tribe Open team title.

The Fordham cross country squad will next be in action on Saturday, October 27, as they compete at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championships at Belmont Park in Philadelphia beginning at 10:00 a.m.
