Fordham Golf Tied for Tenth at the Big 5 Invitational

Huntingdon Valley, Pa. - The Fordham golf team opened competition at the Big 5 Invitational on Saturday, hosted at the Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. With the help of a very good round by senior Jason Del Rosso, the Rams are tied for 10th place out of 19 teams after day one.

There is a tie atop the team scoreboard, as Sacred Heart and Yale shot matching scores of 306 on day one, followed by Villanova in third (307), Connecticut in fourth (308), and Princeton in fifth (309). Fordham is ten shots back with an opening round total of 316.

Individually, Princeton's Gerg Jarmas shot an opening round of 71 to lead the field, while Yale's Brad Kushner is in second with a 72. Binghamton's Bryce Edmister is in third with a 73, while Fordham's Del Rosso and Connecticut's Mike Masso are tied for fourth after each shot a 74 on Saturday.

Aside from Del Rosso, Brody Nieporte shot an opening round of 80, which is tied for 48th, while Connor Monaghan and Brandon Nolan both shot an 81, which is tied for 56th. Jeff Hogan was the Rams' final competitor, shooting an 82, which is tied for 68th.

Competition at the Big 5 Invitational will conclude on Sunday.
