Women's Basketball Hosts La Salle on Rams School Day on Wednesday

The Fordham University women's basketball looks to get above the .500 mark as the Rams host the La Salle Explorers on Wednesday, February 1, at noon as part of `Rams School Day'. The Rams and La Salle meet for the 42nd time on Wednesday. The Explorers lead the all-time series, 33-8, and have won the last two meetings. In the game earlier this year, Brittany Wilson scored 31 points en route to a 68-62 La Salle victory on January 11th in Philadelphia.

The Rams enter the contest with an 11-11 overall mark, 2-5 in the Atlantic 10. In their last game, the Rams defeated Massachusetts, 56-54, at the Mullins Center on Saturday. Emily Tapio was one of four Fordham players who reached double figures in scoring and it was her layup with two seconds left that propelled the Rams to the two-point win.

Fordham enters the game with a pair of players averaging in double figures in scoring beginning with Arielle Collins at 11.0 ppg, and she also leads the team in assists (73) and steals (38). Becky Peters enters play contributing 11.0 ppg while Abigail Corning is averaging 9.9 ppg and leads the team in three-point shooting percentage (.361).

La Salle enters the game with a 9-12 overall record, 3-3 in the A-10. The Explorers have lost three straight after opening conference play with a 3-0 mark. The team is led in scoring by Wilson at 14.0 ppg, followed by Alexis Scott (12.8 ppg) and Jada Payne (9.2 ppg).

Following the game with La Salle, Fordham faces another Big 5 team as they travel to Philadelphia to face Temple University in an Atlantic 10 game on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
