Fordham Game Notes
The Rams enter the game with a 6-6 overall record after defeating Georgia Tech, 72-66, last Thursday in the Rose Hill Gym. Harvard, ranked 22nd in the latest AP poll and 21st in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll, enters the game with a 12-1 record after defeating Saint Joseph's, 74-69, in Cambridge on Saturday.
On the court, Fordham is led by junior Chris Gaston, who leads the team in scoring (16.7 ppg) and rebounding (11.3 rpg). He scored 23 points and grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds against Georgia Tech, his NCAA-leading tenth double-double of the year and the 46th of his career. Gaston's 23 points brings his career total to 1,150, moving him ahead of John Stevens (1962-65) and Jim Manhardt (1961-64) and into 21st place on the Fordham all-time scoring list while his 17 rebounds, which surpassed his previous season-high of 15 set against Lehigh and matched against Texas State, bring his career total to 770, moving him ahead of Sanford Jenkins (1988-92) and into eighth place on the Fordham career rebounding list.
Tuesday's game will be the eleventh meeting between the Rams and the Crimson on the hardwood. Fordham leads the all-time series, which started in 1962, 7-3, but Harvard took last year's meeting, 80-57, in Cambridge.
