Women's Basketball Heads to Massachusetts to Face the Minutewomen on Saturday

Amherst, Mass. - The Fordham University women's basketball team heads up to New England looking for its second Atlantic 10 win of the season in a matchup with the University of Massachusetts Minutewomen on Saturday, January 28, at 5:00 PM. Follow the game by clicking on the links below:

The Rams and UMass meet for the 32nd time on Saturday evening. The Minutewomen lead the all-time series, 21-10, including a 13-2 mark against Fordham in games played in the Mullins Center. In their last meeting, Fordham defeated UMass, 61-52, in the Rose Hill Gym on February 23, 2011.

The Rams enter the contest with a 10-11 overall mark, 1-5 in the Atlantic 10. In their last game, the Rams fell to Charlotte, 61-41, in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday. Charlotte Stoddart led Fordham with 10 points.

Fordham enters the game with three players averaging in double figures in scoring beginning with Arielle Collins at 11.0 ppg, and she also leads the team in assists (70) and steals (35). Becky Peters enters play contributing 10.9 ppg while Abigail Corning is averaging 9.8 ppg and leads the team in three-point shooting percentage (.370).

UMass enters the game with a 6-14 overall record, 1-4 in the A-10, after falling to Duquesne, 76-62, on Wednesday. The team is led in scoring by Jasmine Watson at 11.8 ppg, followed by Shakia Robinson (11.7 ppg) and Megan Zullo (9.2 ppg).

Following the game with the Minutewomen, Fordham faces a pair of Philadelphia teams beginning with La Salle University on Wednesday, February 1, at noon in the Rose Hill Gym as part of Ram School Day. The Rams then return to the road, traveling to Philadelphia to face Temple University next Saturday at 2:00 PM.
