The Rams and URI will meet for the 30th time on Saturday afternoon. Rhode Island leads the all-time series, 18-11, but Fordham has won the last two matchups. Rhody holds the edge over Fordham in games played at the Rose Hill Gym, 8-6.
The Rams enter the contest with a 9-8 overall mark and a 0-2 ledger in conference play. In its last contest, the team fell to La Salle, 68-62, in the Tom Gola Arena in Philadelphia, Pa. Arielle Collins led Fordham with 14 points while Becky Peters scored 13 and Emily Tapio and Abigail Corning chipped in with 11 apiece.
Fordham enters the game with three players averaging in double figures for scoring beginning with Becky Peters at 11.3, while Arielle Collins is second in scoring at 11.2 ppg and leads the team in assists (59) and steals (30). Abigail Corning is averaging 10.7 ppg and leads the team in three-point percentage (.405).
Rhode Island enters the game with a 1-16 overall record, 0-2 in the A-10, after losing their fourteenth straight, a 46-39 setback to Massachusetts on Wednesday. The team is led in scoring by Ashley Rivera at 11.2 followed by Emilie Cloutier (9.7 ppg) and Corinne Coia (7.7 ppg).
Following the Rhode Island game, the Rams return to Philadelphia as they continue Atlantic 10 play with a matchup against Saint Joseph's on Wednesday, January 18 at 7:00 PM.
