The Fordham University women's basketball squad will look to improve to 6-3 on the road this season, 10-7 overall, as the Rams travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to face the La Salle University Explorers in an Atlantic 10 game on Wednesday, January 11, at 12:00 P.M. The Rams and Explorers will meet for the 41st time on Wednesday afternoon. La Salle leads the all-time series, 32-8, but the two sides split a pair of games last year, with the home team winning in each contest by identical 69-54 scores. The Explorers hold the edge over Fordham in games played at Tom Gola Arena, 17-3.
The Rams enter the contents with a 9-7 overall mark and a 0-1 ledger in conference play. In its last contest, the team fell to George Washington, 54-43, in its Atlantic 10 opener at the Smith Center in Washington, D.C. Arielle Collins scored 15 points and Becky Peters chipped in with 10.
Fordham enters the game with three players averaging in double figures for scoring beginning with Becky Peters at 11.2, while Arielle Collins is second in scoring at 11.1 ppg and leads the team in assists (55) and steals (28). Abigail Corning is averaging 10.7 ppg and leads the team in three-point percentage (.392).
The Explorers enter the game with a 7-9 overall record, 1-0 in the A-10, after winning their fourth straight, a 53-52 edging of Saint Louis on Saturday. The team is led in scoring by Alexis Scott at 13.0 followed by Brittany Wilson (12.0 ppg) and Nadia Duncan (8.0 ppg).
Following the La Salle game, the Rams return home to the Rose Hill Gym as they continue Atlantic 10 play with a matchup against Rhode Island on Saturday, January 14 at 2:00 PM.
