Lewisburg, Pa. - Fordham University freshman driver Eric Minowitz (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) was named the CWPA's Northern Division Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the league. This is Minowitz's first career weekly honor.

Minowitz tallied a total of six goals and five steals in four games at the Navy Labor Day Open this past weekend, as the Rams opened their season with a 2-2 mark. His highlight game came on Sunday against Penn State Behrend, netting four goals to go with three steals in a 13-3 win. Later on Sunday, he also added a goal and two steals in a sudden death overtime loss to George Washington.

Minowitz's six goals on the weekend tied him for second on the team in goal scoring with Nicholas Allen, just one behind team leader Jake Bakas with seven.

Minowitz and the rest of the Rams (2-2) will next be in action September 10-11, when the team travel to Princeton, New Jersey, for the Princeton Invitational. The team's first game will be against the host team, Princeton University, at 10:15 AM on September 10th. Fordham will also play Johns Hopkins, Harvard, and Santa Clara in the tournament.
