Fordham's Robert Fleming and Noah LeBeau Recevie Weekly CWPA Awards

Sept. 27, 2011

Lewisburg, Pa. - Fordham University junior utility player Robert Fleming (Loomis, Calif./Jesuit) and freshman goalkeeper Noah LeBeau (Long Beach, Calif./Wilson Classical) received weekly honors from the Collegiate Water Polo Association on Tuesday, as Fleming was named the Northern Division Player of the Week, while LeBeau was the Northern Division Rookie of the Week. This is the first career weekly honor for either player.

Fleming tallied nine goals, including a pair of game-winners, and five steals in a 2-0 weekend for the Rams. He scored five times versus the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including the overtime game-winner with 0.1 seconds remaining on the game clock, in a 10-9 victory before posting four goals in a 10-9 win over Harvard University. Versus Harvard, he ripped in his fourth marker of the day via a five-meter penalty shot with 46 seconds remaining in the fourth period for the deciding factor in the contest.

Fleming currently leads the Rams in goals (31) and points (41) through 14 games.

LeBeau kept the Rams in the game and stymied the MIT Engineers' shooters with 15 saves and two steals as the Rams picked up a 10-9 overtime victory. In Fordham's second game of the weekend, he turned aside one shot and grabbed two steals in the first period in a 10-9 victory before departing with an injury.

Fleming, LeBeau, and the rest of the Rams (5-9, 2-0) have a slight break before their next set of games on October 6th at Cal-Baptist.
