Final Round Stats

Ithaca, N.Y. - The Fordham men's golf team finished in 6th place, out of 14 teams, at the Cornell Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca, New York, on Sunday. Freshman Jeff Hogan finished at five over par, for a tie for 15th place after he sunk nine birdie putts in his first collegiate tournament.

The squad was in 6th place after day one of competition and it cemented its hold on 6th with solid play on Sunday. Hogan, who had posted a pair of even-par-72 rounds in the first two rounds, put up a 77 on Sunday to earn his 15th position and lead all Rams' golfers.

Brody Nieporte totaled a 77 on Sunday as well and came in at a tie for 29th. He finished with a score of 227 after rounds of 75-75-77. Senior captain, Devon O'Rourke, was his usual, consistent self, as he posted a mark of 76 on Sunday after opening with a 75 and a 77. He came in at a tie for 32nd.

The low round of the day went to Jason Del Rosso, who shot a 73. He improved each round after marking numbers of 79 and 77 in the opening two rounds. He was in a tie for 36th. The final Fordham competitor was Connor Monaghan, who closed out the tournament with a 75. He also lowered his total every round after netting scores of 81 and 77. His 233 total score put him all alone in 48th place.

The team returns to action on October 1, when they travel up to New Haven, Connecticut, to compete in the Yale McDonald Cup. The squad will shoot two rounds of golf on Saturday and play the final round on Sunday.
