West Point, N.Y. - The Fordham University women's tennis team closed out play at the 2011 West Point Eastern Invitational at Army on Sunday with the doubles team of Sarah Ali and Bella Genkina winning the A Doubles competition.

Ali and Genkina, who entered the tournament as the third seed, squared off against Michelle Dassa and Jackie Raynor, the second seeds, in the finals with the Ram duo pulling out an 8-2 victory.

Also competing in the finals today was Amy Simidian who faced Stony Brook's Nini Lagvilava, the top seed in the draw, in the A Singles title match. Unfortunately, Simidian fell in straight sets to Lagvilava, 6-0 and 6-2.

The Fordham women's tennis team will next be in action on Sunday, October 2nd, as they host the Manhattan College Jaspers on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 12:00 PM.
