Bronx, N.Y. -
The Fordham golf team will open its autumn schedule on Friday, September 16, when they travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the Bucknell Fall Invitational. The squad was originally supposed to begin the campaign at the Colgate Fall Invitational on September 10, but that was cancelled due to stormy weather in Hamilton, New York.
The Rams will be one of 13 schools in competition over the weekend. The other colleges are: Bucknell, Army, Canisius, Colgate, Hampton, Lafayette, Laval, Longwood, Lehigh, Messiah, Navy and Ottawa. The teams will play 36 holes on Friday and another 18 on Saturday at the Par-70, Bucknell University Golf Course.
Fordham competed in this tournament in 2010 where they finished in third place out of 13 teams. Team captain Devon, O'Rourke, led the Rams that day with a fourth-place showing. He was followed by Jason Del Rosso, Connor Monaghan, Brody Nieporte and Brendan Green.
Following the Bucknell Fall Invitational, the team will return to the links on Saturday, September 24 when they compete in the Cornell Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Ithaca, New York. The team tees off at 9:00 AM in the tournament.
