Bronx, N.Y. -
The men's soccer programs from Fordham and the University of Hartford have agreed to replay the game from August 27 that was originally ruled a no-contest due to Hurricane Irene. The makeup date will be this Saturday, September 3, at 7:00 P.M., in West Hartford, Connecticut.
The two teams took to the pitch on Saturday, August 27, in the midst of a storm, and the Rams and Hawks got through nearly an hour of playing time before the officials ruled the game a no contest. Fordham was ahead 2-1 when action was ceased. According to NCAA rules, the game has to have reached the 70 minute mark, for it to have counted. So, both teams will resume from the very beginning with no score and no stats accumulated for either side.
This schedule change means the Rams are facing a daunting, five-game road trip before returning to Rose Hill. They have the home opener against Lehigh on Wednesday and will not be back at Jack Coffey Field until Marist comes calling on Wednesday, September 21, 2011. The match with the Red Foxes is scheduled to begin at 7:00 P.M.
