Bronx, N.Y. -
The Fordham-Connecticut football game, originally scheduled for Thursday night, Sept. 1st, will now take place on Saturday, September 3rd, at noon at Connecticut's Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn.
The game was postponed due to Rentschler Field being unavailable for use on Thursday. The stadium is currently being used by the Connecticut National Guard for use as a commodities distribution center to provide towns and cities of the state that are in need of essential supplies in the wake of Hurricane Irene.
The game will be carried live on ESPN3. Bob Picozzi and former NFL tight end Christian Fauria, who won Super Bowl rings in 2004 and 2005 with the New England Patriots, will be the broadcast crew.
This will be the Rams' 112th season opener and the second time that Fordham and Connecticut have met on the gridiron. The first meeting, a 35-0 Fordham win, occurred in 1915.
