TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Here are some quick facts on Fordham's opponents at the SFC Terrier Invitational:
Rider: The Broncs went 5-27 last season and are under the direction of Christopher Feliciano, who is in his first season at Rider. Feliciano should be familiar to Fordham, as he served as an assistant coach for the Rams last season. The team itself returns eight letterwinners, but only two starters, including Stephanie Nagy, who finished with 171 kills and 77 blocks last season.
NJIT: The Highlanders went 4-22 last season and are under the direction of JR Martins, who is in his third season at NJIT. The team returns nine letterwinners, which includes all but one starter. Among the team's top returnees is Janet Snell, who was second on the team with 239 kills and 303 digs a year ago.
St. Francis: The Terriers were 10-19 last season and are under the direction of Micha Acoba, who is in his second season at St. Francis. The team's biggest concern is trying to replace All-NEC performer Anisa Lila, who finished with a team-best 443 kills to go with 327 digs, good for second on the team.
TEAM CAPTAINS: Seniors Megan Arend, Kim Capicotto, and Brittany Daulton will serve as the Fordham team captains for the 2011 season.
ATLANTIC 10 PRESEASON RANKINGS (8/11): The Atlantic 10 Conference announced coaches' predictions and the preseason All-Conference teams for volleyball with Fordham selected to finish seventh in the 10-team league.
Dayton, Xavier, and Duquesne were picked as the top three teams in the league, followed by Saint Louis, Charlotte, and George Washington, while Fordham, Rhode Island, Temple and La Salle round out the predictions.
