Jen Mineau Named a 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American

Starkville, Miss. - Fordham's Jen Mineau found her name on the 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American team, marking the second consecutive season she was a member of the All American squad. For 2011, she is a Third Team honoree. Mineau joins former football Rams, Ben Dato and Kirwin Watson, as well as water polo player Ali Arat, over the past decade, that were two-time All-Americans.

2011, Mineau's junior season, saw the pitcher post another year of superlatives. She was selected to the All Atlantic 10 First Team, named Most Outstanding Player in the A-10 Championship, and was feted as A-10 Pitcher of the Week four times. In the classroom, she was lauded as the conferences Scholar Athlete of the Year for the second time. She was also chosen as an Academic All-American®.

In the circle this past season, she threw two no hitters, including a perfect game. Mineau tossed 81 consecutive scoreless innings, en route to her second-consecutive twenty win season. She became Fordham's career strikeout, complete games, shutouts and wins leaders. Additionally, she is on pace to break several other pitching records including saves, appearances and innings pitched.

Mineau was a key member of the 2011 Rams, who became the first team in school history to win the Atlantic 10 Championship in softball and advanced to the NCAA Regional where they defeated Penn State before losing to Oregon and the Nittany Lions. Fordham concluded the campaign with an overall record of 42-19.
