Oklahoma City, Ok. -
The invitations were sent out and Fordham's junior pitcher, Jen Mineau, was among the invitees to earn a chance to compete with the USA Softball Women's National Team, it was announced on Friday, May 27 by the Amateur Softball Association of America. Mineau is the only Rams' player (and lone Atlantic 10 representative) to receive an opportunity with the team.
Mineau is one of eight other players to recently accept the invitation. She joined Christine Orgeron and Ashley Brignac from Louisiana-Lafayette, Annie Lockwood and Kaylyn Castillo from Arizona State, Cheyenne Coyle of Florida, Tennessee's Kelly Greive and Jolene Henderson of Cal, as the most recent members. Mineau and her cohorts will compete in six different events in three different countries. Fans in the United States will be able to watch the team domestically as they compete in tour stops of Oklahoma City, Plant City, Florida, Salem, Virginia and Bowie, Maryland.
Mineau recently completed her junior season with the Rams. In 2011, she became the school's all-time leader in strikeouts and wins. She hurled two no-hitters, including a perfect game and posted an 81.2 consecutive scoreless innings streak culminating in the Rams first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship.
