Newport News, Va. -
Fordham All-American pitcher, Jen Mineau, was named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday, May 2. It was the fourth time this season that Mineau accepted the honor, winning it previously on March 7, March 28 and April 11.
In a week that saw the Rams go a perfect 7-0 and clinch the 2011 regular season title, Mineau started (and completed) five of the seven contests. She posted a 0.00 ERA while striking out 49 batters and walking just four. She posted a 12-1 strikeout to walk ratio.
The highlight of her week came when she tossed a perfect game against St. Peter's pm April 27. In the 9-0 Fordham win, Mineau fanned 12 Peahens, faced just 15 batters and didn't let a ball leave the infield.
Mineau and the rest of the Rams return to action on Thursday, May 12 against an unknown opponent in the Atlantic 10 Championship. The team earned a first-round bye when they clinched the regular season championship over the weekend.
