After winning the Atlantic 10 softball championship and the accompanying automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament, the Fordham softball team will host an on-campus viewing party to see where they will be placed in the field of 64. The team will appear in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.
The show is being aired live on ESPNU on 10:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 15. The team, family and supporters will gather at Dagger Johns to watch the show. The first-ever softball championship assures that the Fordham name will be called sometime during the show.
The team finished the year at 41-17 and has beaten several of the nation's top team including Texas, DePaul, Syracuse, Indiana and South Florida. Fordham boasted the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in Jocelyn Dearborn, the A-10 Coach of the Year in Bridget Orchard, First Team honorees in Samantha Pellechio and Jen Mineau, a Second Team member in Jamie LaBovick and an All-Rookie selection in Gabby Luety.
