Day two of the 2011 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship has just wrapped up in Princeton, New Jersey on the campus of Princeton University. Saturday saw eight entries for Fordham, with two qualifying for Sunday's ECAC/IC4A finals.
The Rams' first finals qualifier was the men's 4x800 relay, consisting of John Cosgrove, Ryan Polo, Brian Walter, and Brian Schmidt, as they placed ninth overall in 7:30.79.
Fordham's second Sunday qualifier was senior Kerri Gallagher, who placed third overall in the 1,500 meters in 4:28.76.
Fordham's other individual entries were Schmidt, who placed 13th in the 800 meters in 1:51.23, sophomore Sean Atkinson, who took 15th in the 400 meter hurdles in 53.35 seconds, and junior Blair Hassell, who placed 22nd in the javelin throw with a distance of 118' 9".
Fordham also had three other relay teams competing on Saturday. The men's 4x400 relay, comprised of Atkinson, Nick Delligatti, Christopher Lyons, and Sam Houston, placed 13th overall in 3:15.67, while the women's 4x400 team of Elisabeth Warren, Kelly Connolly, Averie Sheppard, and Gallagher placed 23rd in 3:51.30. The Rams' final relay was the women's 4x800, comprised of Diane Bain, Ashley Davis, Darlene Eiermann, and Anisa Arsenault, who placed 16th in 9:36.25.
Sunday's action will begin with Gallagher running in the 1,500 meter final at 12:15 PM, while the men's 4x800 relay will take place at approximately 2:50 PM.
