Charlotte, N.C. - After defeating Charlotte 2-0 to open the Atlantic 10 championship on Thursday, the Fordham softball team advances into the semi finals where it will face Massachusetts on Friday, May 13, at noon. The game was originally scheduled for 1:00 P.M., but was moved back an hour due to the threat of storms in the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area.

The Rams and Minutewomen are the only remaining unbeaten teams at the tournament, and are the top two seeds. Fordham, the top seed, will be the home team in the game.

The two schools met at the end of the regular season and the Rams swept a pair of games in Amherst, 6-0 and 4-0. In those contests, Jen Mineau threw shutouts and Chelsea Palumbo provided the offensive spark.

Depending upon the outcome of games on Friday, the Rams could still face Charlotte, UMass or Saint Joseph's in the remainder of the championship. The forecast for the week calls for inclement weather, and thus might affect schedule times. Please check with www.fordhamsports.com for all schedule changes.
