Bronx, N.Y. - As the 2010-11 season begins to wind down, the Fordham University Athletic Department held its 77th annual Block F Awards Dinner at the Villa Barone Manor on May 4th to honor Fordham University's student-athletes for their accomplishments during the academic year.

Among those honored was Cindy Poiesz, who was named the 2010-11 Cheerleading MVP.

Poiesz, a senior captain, displayed a steadfast effort, enthusiasm, and work ethic throughout the year as a leader of the squad that performs at all football and men's and women's basketball games. Between games, they also find time to perform at various Fordham events, volunteer for the Special Olympics and National Women in Sports Day, and assist local cheerleading teams.
