Bronx, N.Y. -
As the 2010-11 season begins to wind down, the Fordham University Athletic Department held its 77th annual Block F Awards Dinner at the Villa Barone Manor on May 4th to honor Fordham University's student-athletes for their accomplishments during the academic year.
Among those honored was Kyara Weekes, who was named the 2010-11 Women's Basketball Most Valuable Player.
Weekes provided the Rams leadership on and off the court and always did it with a smile. She set career-highs in virtually every category this season, finishing the year averaging averaging 7.1 ppg and 4.1 rpg and she dished out a team-high 65 assists. Weekes was also third on the team with 32 three-pointers made and 25 steals and netted double figures ten times.
Weekes ended her career in the top 25 in games played (111), three-point field goals (82), and assists (161) at Fordham.
