Bronx, N.Y. -
The Fordham softball team will finally close out an eleven-game home stand against the La Salle Explorers on Sunday, April 10. The Doubleheader gets underway at noon.
The home stand began for the Rams with a sweep of two games against Lehigh on March 30. Over the course of the nearly dozen games, the Rams have thrown a no-hitter, blasted 10 home runs and won six games.
Most recently, the Rams defeated the George Washington Colonials 11-1 in a five-inning game on Saturday, April 9, 2011. In that game, Gabby Luety hit a three-run home run and Chelsea Palumbo connected on a walk-off grand slam. Chelsea Plimpton pitched a complete-game three hitter to get the win.
Following the set with La Salle, the Rams will hit the road for five games before returning home. They are next in action on Wednesday, April 13, when they travel to Long Island, New York for a game with Stony Brook.
Fordham returns to Bahoshy Field on Saturday, April 23, for a pair of games against Dayton. The games, which get underway at noon, will have a senior-day ceremony between games honoring the five seniors on the team.
