Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's tennis ventured up to Poughkeepsie to face Vassar College today but was unable to upended the 29th-ranked Brewers, falling by a 9-0 score in the Walker Field House.

The Rams opened the match losing all three doubles matches. Nick Kelly and Ken Fukumoto dropped first doubles to Vassar's Ben Guzick and Joshua Jasso, 8-1, while Alex DeRienzo and Eli Plangger were upended by Andrew Guzick and Max Willner at second doubles, 8-2. Kevin Maloney and Dan Kane-West fell at third doubles to Kartik Kapoor and Dan Freeman, 8-0.

Fordham then lost all six singles matches with two going to a tiebreaker. At fifth singles, Fukumoto took the first set from Josh Kessler, 6-2, before losing the second, 6-4. In the deciding third set, Fukumoto fell 7-6, losing the tiebreaker, 7-3.

At sixth singles, Kane-West dropped the first set to Jasso, 6-3, before winning the second, 7-5, to force a tiebreaker which Jasso won, 10-5.

The Rams will next be in action on Saturday, April 9th, as they travel to Easton, Penn., to face Lafayette College at 11:00 a.m.
