Philadelphia, Pa. - The Fordham University women's tennis team traveled to Philadelphia on Sunday and returned with a 5-2 win over Saint Joseph's University.

The Rams opened the match winning the doubles point, taking two of the three doubles matches. Mia Fiocca and Angelika Dabu combined to win at first doubles over Casey Robinson and MaggieMullaney, 8-3, while at second doubles, Sarah Tremaine and Hanna Fritzinger were victorious over Tara Walsh and Kate Dowd, 8-3. At third doubles, Fordham's Bethany Boyle and Jennifer Mullen fell to Devi Jadeja and Jenna Procyk, 8-1.

Fordham then won the match by winning four of the six singles matches, picking up wins at the second, fourth, fifth and sixth positions. At second singles, Dabu lost the first set to Jadeja, 4-6, but came back to win the second, 6-1, forcing a third set that went overtime with Dabu winning, 7-6 (3).

At fourth singles, Fritzinger bested Walsh in straight sets, 6-1 6-3, while Boyle upended Dowd at the fifth spot, 6-3 7-6(3). Mullen picked up the fifth point for Fordham with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Procyk at sixth singles.

The Rams will next be in action on Tuesday, April 5th as they host Long Island University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 3:00 p.m.
