Amherst, Mass. -
Fordham closes out its conference schedule with a trip to New England for games with Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The games with UMass are slated for Friday and Saturday with the opener starting at 3:00 P.M. and Saturday's game scheduled for noon.
The Minutewomen and the Rams occupy the top two spots in the Atlantic 10 conference standings and the series should solidify the final positions in the standings for the two schools heading into the conference tournament, which starts next week. The Rams enter play with a 34-17 mark and a 12-4 conference record, while UMass is 23-15, 10-3 in A-10 competition.
Fordham enters the series having completed the home portion of their schedule with a sweep of St. Peter's. Chelsea Plimpton threw a one-hit shutout in the opener and Jen Mineau tossed a perfect game in the rubber match. Jocelyn Dearborn also set the all-time records for hits.
Following the two games series with UMass, the Rams stay in New England for a doubleheader on Sunday with Rhode Island. The two games with the other Rams get underway at noon on May 1.
