Fordham Softball Game at Iona Postponed

April 28, 2011

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham softball team was supposed to closeout the 2011 regular season with a rematch against the Iona Gaels in New Rochelle, New York, on Tuesday, May 3. That game has been postponed with no make up date announced yet.

The Rams will finish the 2011 season in New England instead, taking on Rhode Island in a doubleheader on Sunday. Iona forced the postponement due to a scheduling conflict, as they needed the day to make up an earlier Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference that was pushed back earlier in the season.

In the first meeting of the year between Fordham and Iona, the Rams won 1-0 in a game at Bahoshy Field in the Bronx. In that game the Rams scored the lone run in the first as Jocelyn Dearborn cracked a triple and scored on a Nicole Callahan base hit. Jen Mineau threw a complete game shutout.

Fordham travels to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Atlantic 10 Championship beginning on May 11. The opponent for the Rams is yet unknown.
