The Fordham men's tennis team closed out its 2010-11 season on the Hawthorn./Rooney Courts today with a 6-1 loss to Queens College. Eli Plangger picked up the point for the Rams with a victory at sixth singles.
The Rams opened the match dropping the doubles point, losing two of the three doubles matches. Alex DeRienzo and Plangger took second doubles for the Rams from Jesse Smith and Robby Scheiung, 8-6, but Nick Kelly and Austin Shoup dropped first doubles to Atillo Toth and Nikolaj Wulff, 8-4, and Andriy Kulak and Dan Kane-West fell at third doubles to Diego Medrano and David Burstein, 8-2.
In singles play, Plangger dropped the first set to Scheuing at sixth singles, 7-5, before coming back to win the second, 6-0. He then won the match by taking the tiebreaker, 11-9.
