Complete Atlantic 10 Release
Philadelphia, Pa. -
Fordham University sophomore Mia Fiocca (New Rochelle, N.Y./Ursuline School) was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10, in voting among the league's head coaches. She is the first Ram to receive All-Conference honors since Dominique Ligouri was named First Team in 2009.
Fiocca, a transfer from Barry University, compiled a 14-10 singles record for Fordham this year, 6-4 in the spring. She played mostly at the first and second positions in singles and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Eastern Championships last fall.
In doubles action, Fiocca was 13-11, 7-7 when playing with Monika Dabu, mostly at first doubles, and 6-4 when teaming with Sarah Tremaine. She and Tremaine won their first four matches at the Eastern Championships before falling in the finals of the A Doubles flight to Stony Brook's Fanny Charliquart and Gayatri Krishman by an 8-6 score.
A graduate of the Ursuline School, Fiocca played tennis for Laurel Springs High School under current Fordham head coach Bette-Ann Speliotis Liguori.
