Bronx, N.Y. -
The Fordham softball team is looking to extend its current six-game winning streak to eight as it travels to Hackensack, New Jersey to take on Fairleigh Dickinson in a doubleheader on Thursday, April 21. The first game is scheduled to get underway at 3:00 P.M.
The current winning streak for the Rams includes sweeps of George Washington, La Salle and Charlotte and helped catapult them into first place in the Atlantic 10 standings with an overall record of 28-16 and a conference mark of 11-3. The team had a six-game winning streak earlier in the season. The Knights enter the game sporting a 21-16 ledger, and own a 6-8 record in the Northeast Conference.
The Rams and Knights have met 13 times prior to the doubleheader. Fordham leads the all-time series 12-1. The Rams swept a pair of games from FDU in the Bronx in 2010, but the last time two schools met in Hackensack, back in 2009, the Knights came out victorious.
Fairleigh Dickinson is led by junior Caitlin Bradac. She leads the team in batting average, hits, RBI, total bases and slugging percentage. The righty is also a contributor in the circle as well, having pitched in 18 games with 13 starts. She leads the squad in wins (10), strikeouts (87) and innings pitched (94.1).
Following the series with the Knights, the Rams return home for a doubleheader with the Dayton Flyers on Saturday, April 23. The first game is scheduled to begin at noon.
