Fordham Softball Traveling to Charlotte to Face the 49ers on Friday

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham softball team travels to Charlotte, North Carolina to play a doubleheader with Charlotte on Friday, April 15. The series was originally slated for a game each on Friday and Saturday, but was recently changed to a doubleheader on Friday due to the potential of inclement weather. This series features to top two teams in the Atlantic 10 standings.

Fordham enters the game with a 26-16 overall record, including a 9-3 conference mark. The 49ers are 22-17 with a 6-2 A-10 mark. Fordham sits at the top of the conference standings, while Charlotte is just behind them.

Both teams feature potent offensive weapons in Tenaya Tucker and Jocelyn Deaborn. Tucker leads her team in batting (.407), hits (50), doubles (15) and is second in home runs (6) and RBI (35). Deaborn leads the Rams in several offensive categories including home runs (12), RBI (27), batting average (.358), hits (48), runs (29), triples (5), walks (15), total bases (100) and slugging percentage (.746). She was recently named A-10 Player of the Week.

Following the series with the 49ers, the Rams play a doubleheader on Thursday, April 21, as they travel to New Jersey to face Fairleigh Dickinson. The first game against the Knights begins at 3:00 P.M.
