Centerville, Mass. -
The awards continue to roll in for junior All-American, Jen Mineau, as she adds the ECAC Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 10, to her least of superlatives in the 2011 season. This award accompanies her earning the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week in the same week.
For the week of April 10, Mineau had three appearances, as she faced Hofstra, George Washington and La Salle. The highlight of these games was a no-hitter thrown against the Colonials on Friday, April 8. The 3-0 win was her sixth-career no hit game and her first of the 2011 season.
Against the Pride, she came out of the bullpen to throw four scoreless innings. She allowed just three hits and walked one, while striking out five. She didn't factor into the loss.
Her second appearance was the game with George Washington. She finished that with one walk to coincide with 12 strikeouts. She faced just four batters over the minimum.
Although she surrendered a hit, her final start of the week, against La Salle, was perhaps her best. In the complete game, gave up just one hit and no Explorers base runners got past first base. Fordham won the game 8-0, in five innings, and once again Mineau reached double figures in strikeouts, with 13.
In total, she struck out 30, didn't allow a run and scattered just four hits in 16 innings of work. She posted an amazing 15:1 strikeout to walk ratio.
Mineau and the Rams return to action on Friday, April 15, when they travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they have a two-game series with the 49ers. The game on Friday is scheduled to begin at 4:00 P.M.
