Fairfield, Conn. - The Fordham University men's tennis squad traveled up to Sacred Heart University on Sunday where the Rams were shut out by the Pioneers, 7-0.

The match opened with Sacred Heart winning the doubles point, taking all three doubles matches. Fordham's Alex DeRienzo and Eli Plangger fell to Cole Conrad and Nick Mazzarese at first doubles, 8-1, while Nick Kelly and Ken Fukumoto were upended by Jacob Miller and Chad Sullo, 8-0, at the second position. At third doubles, Sacred Heart's John Harvey and Michael Syer defeated Fordham's Alex Levine and Austin Shoup, 8-4.

The Pioneers then won all six singles matches in straight sets for the 7-0 win.

The Fordham men's tennis team will return to action on Tuesday, April 12th, as they travel to Fairleigh Dickinson University for a 3:00 p.m. match
