The Fordham University crew wrapped up competition at the 2011 Knecht Cup on the Cooper River today with the varsity 8 winning the third final and the second varsity 8 placing fifth in the petite final.
In the varsity 8 third final the Rams beat five other boats to the finish line with a time of 7:01.17, edging out Temple who finished second in 7:02.41. Colgate placed third in the race while Massachusetts was fourth, Delaware fifth and Boston College sixth.
In the second varsity 8, the Rams placed fifth in the petite final in 7:35.05, finishing ahead of the Kansas B shell but behind Rutgers, Drexel, Kansas A and West Virginia.
Fordham had one other boat compete on the day with the second freshman/novice 8 placing third in 8:49.14.
The Fordham crew will next be in action on Saturday April 16th, as they compete in the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championships on the Cooper River in Collingswood, N.J.
