Poughkeepsie, N.y. - The 2011 Fordham University men's tennis team continued its season this afternoon, venturing up to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., where the Rams were shut out by the Marist College Red Foxes, 7-0.

The Rams opened the match by dropping the doubles point, losing all three doubles matches. Nick Kelly and Ken Fukumoto fell at first doubles to Marist's Rhys Hobbs and Matt Himmelsbach, 8-2, while Eli Plangger and Andriy Kulak were upended at second doubles by Lorenzo Rossi and Will Reznek, 8-1. At third doubles, Kevin Maloney and Dan Kane-West dropped the match to Marcus von Nordheim and Dalen Klassen, 8-1.

In singles action, Fordham lost all six matches in straight sets with Maloney losing at first singles (6-0, 6-1), Fukumoto falling at second singles (6-0, 6-2), Kulak coming up short at the third position (6-1, 6-1), Plangger losing at the fourth spot (6-2, 6-1), Kane-West losing at fifth singles (6-1, 6-1) and Alex Levine dropping the sixth singles match (6-3, 6-0).

The Rams will next be in action on Sunday, April 3rd, as they host the St. Francis (NY) College Terriers on the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts at 2:00 p.m.
