Jen Mineau Named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week

Newport News, Va. - Fordham junior pitcher Jen Mineau was named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week, it was announced today, March 28, by the league office. This is the second such award of the season for Mineau, having earned her first accolade for the week of March 7.

The junior hurler had three appearances during the week. Against Big East opponent, St. John's on Tuesday, March 22, she came out of the bullpen to throw the final two innings of a tied ballgame. She didn't allow a run and gave up only one hit en route to earning her seventh win of the season.

Over the weekend, against conference foe, St. Bonaventure, Mineau once again came out of the bullpen and this time she earned her fourth save of the season. She faced nine Bonnies batters and struck every single one of them.

In the second game of the doubleheader with St. Bonaventure, Mineau took the start. She tossed a complete-game one-hitter. She struck out 10 batters and the only base runner came on a fourth-inning single.

Overall, she allowed just two hits and struck out 21 batters in 10 innings of work. She also didn't allow any runs.

The Fordham softball team will be back in action on Wednesday, March 30, when they host Lehigh in their home opener. The doubleheader starts at 3:00 P.M.
