Fordham's Michael Belgiovine and Anisa Arsenault Named Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Rookies of the Week

Newport News, Va. - Fordham University freshmen Michael Belgiovine (Mahwah, N.J./Don Bosco Prep) and Anisa Arsenault (Attleboro, Mass./Bishop Feehan) were named the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Rookies of the Week today, it was announced by the league.

It is third Rookie award for both Belgiovine and Arsenault this season, as Belgiovine was honored twice during cross country season, while Arsenault picked up an award during both the cross country and indoor track seasons.

Belgiovine had three top-five finishes to open the season, winning the 10K run (33:47.12) and adding a fifth-place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:08.46) at the Battleground Relays. He then placed fourth in the 1,500 meters at the Raleigh Relays, finishing in a season-best time of 4:00.60.

Arsenault was a part of two event wins at the Battleground Relays, leading the Rams to victory in the 3,000 meters and the distance medley relay. She finished the 3,000-meters with a time of 10:24.26 and helped the DMR team finished in a time of 13:07.22. She also placed 13th in the 10K run at the Raleigh Relays (36:45.62).

Belgiovine, Arsenault, and the rest of the Fordham track & field team will next be in action on Arpil 1-2, as they compete at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary.
